Behind the scenes of a video shoot featuring a woman in a red shirt in front of a green screen, with multiple monitors and filming equipment; scenes in a hardware store with employees and product displays; a woman on set with a green screen, and a man explaining products in a store for US Sunlight Corporation.

There are two types of videography that I do - Video Shoots and Footage Capture. For me a Video Shoot (just like a Photo Shoot) can be either indoor or outdoor and usually is a controlled environment (like a studio) for the photographer. The Lighting and Subjects are technically manipulated for the best results. Time is allocated to the set up of lighting, backdrops and models to achieve the best look.

Footage Capture is more of an “in the field” activity, usually without lighting set ups or backdrops. Often it is just me and my camera, and I enjoy the challenge that this represents to create quality results. Events like tradeshows, social gatherings, on-site interviews or product/process demonstrations are examples of Footage Capture.

A man working at a desk in a recording studio with a microphone, two computer monitors, and audio equipment, editing a video on Adobe Premiere Pro before and after editing, with a promotional video for home services featuring a man in a red shirt.

As a video editor, I can use client provided footage as well as footage that I obtain myself. I can also use stock footage if requested or a combination of any of these asset types. I work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro in a Windows environment.

Along with video composition, I do provide voice-over services as well as music and background effects.
For Television/Broadcast applications I can provide rendered files in the desired configurations including allowances for bitrate, pixel dimensions, interlacing and frame rate. Your Broadcast platform will usually provide file submission requirements to follow.

Here are some other notable video productions that I have produced.

This is a recent live music video that I recorded in the field for a band called Backtrax. The footage was captured at the Darius Miller Concert Shell in Walnut Hill Park in New Britain, Connecticut. The live footage was edited with their studio recording of the song.

This is a detailed “Project Review and Summary” video for Fogarty’s Home Services who specialize in basement finishing as well as home insulation. This production took multiple trips to the jobsite location to capture the footage and to film the owner Brendan Fogarty.

This is another “Extended Product Overview” for US Sunlight Corp. It highlights the Skylight Tube, a type of solar skylight. This was filmed in two locations: a soundstage in Pleasanton, California and an on location installation of the product.
